Chippewa Park is fortunate to have two swimming areas on the Shore of Lake Superior. The Sandy Beach swimming area is located east of the main part of the park and will be supervised by two lifeguards during July and August. This popular destination has grown in attendance over recent years as more and more members of the public discover it. Its Lake Superior wave action keeps the beach open through much of the swimming season. The second beach is located within the main body of the park and is ideal for the very young. Shallow water makes it safe for toddlers who love to play in the water and in the sand.
